Maxwell schedules 3 x 2 shows to play 2 x 2 albums
It looks like Maxwell took off in 2011 to rest up for 2012. He has just announced a six-date tour comprised of 2-night stays in three cities: Los Angeles (June 20-21), Atlanta (July 27-28), and Newark, NJ (Aug. 3-4). The cherry on top - he’ll perform his four studio albums in their entirety.
The first night, Maxwell and his band will perform the 1996 Maxwell’s Urban Hang Suite and the 1998 Embrya. On night two, fans will be treated to Now from 2001 and BLACKSsummers’night from 2009.
Maxwell is also showing his support for President’s Obama re-election campaign by using these shows to spread the word on Obama’s behalf. The merchandise stands will feature custom Obama-Biden 2012 merchandise with 100 percent of the proceeds going to Obama for America. The organization will also be on hand to help register voters.
Thusfar, this may be the only opportunity to see Maxwell in 2012, so don’t miss your chance to get tickets to one of these limited shows. You could do worse for summer vacation plans!
